Basically as I said work wasn't coming in as fast as I wanted it to ( since then its picked up abit thank god:)

Why I was in panic mode I was thinking of ways of advertising... so I had this board made up wich is straight to the point. I was wondering what the rules are on leaving it in busy places locked to a lamppost ( example: shop parades, completed jobs, industrial estates.....?
Im just thinking for over weekends, or early on a morning so people going to work and returning will see it?

Askba customer if you can place it on their property for the weekend or chained to their fence.

You are opening up a big can of worms IF you start leaving them on verges, streets, lamp posts etc. When I owned an off licence I had some made and dotted them around different areas, the local council where on the phone within a week asking me too remove them. You need permission for everything nowadays and it costs you.

in my town somebod put a sign on a  fence near a busy junction,it was there a good 2 yrs so id say go for it,on a fence

i have just put it at my local shops, its got a big green infront its quick far away from anyway walking... but you have to drive past it to gain access to the shops. we will see

near where I live someone chained a sign advertising a light shop to a lampost, and its been there about 5 years now.  I'm sure it must be illegal, but as long as you don't cause an obstruction, what's the harm?

it depends if some busybody sees it and reports you (or maybe another window cleaner)

well the local shops I live near all burned down in a pizza shop fire, however sainsburys, libraby and community centre is still there and always busy... so I very much doubt anyone will be angry, unless the local councillor is wanting brownie points

Just park your van at a busy intersection, preferrably where there is plenty of Traffic on a Saturday. If you are worried about the van, sit in it for a few hours and see what happens.

The thing is i dont think the vans very good at advertising unless im working be ause you see 100s of them daily.. However a sign tha you walk/ drive past thats on its own is surely more noticeable?

I would target the area you want to work in and choose a main entrance and exit to that area. Put your van there, maybe even sit outside on a deck chair with an umbrella and table. What you are doing is focusing their attention on your advertising board.

The Tesco is also a good idea, although you will tend to get enquires from all over the area.

What is tere not to understand.... I have said whilst working a sign written van works better. I always leave my van at these shops as they are only mins away, however i am trying something new
