« on: July 04, 2013, 05:31:47 pm »
Basicly my mum and dad are divorcing and she is looking at moving into a new build in the north east area so will be on a water meter, does anyone know roughly the prices for water as this might be a problem for me?
thanks

As a rule of thumb I think £3.00 per 1000 litres is what your looking at, that is supply and waste. Waste costs more than supply by volume.

Waste is what they'll charge you for as a good proportion of what is supplied will go down the drain (waste from R.O.)

Depends on your usage 1st
I pay £99 a month fella - make sure you get a sub meter fitted (easily available from eBay etc..) and get an abatement for the waste from the water company.
I've yet to get my amended bill this year but once I've given a reading for my usage it will come down

im on a water meter, using about 400lts daily. plus filling a mates 500lt tanks up at times

using an 200gpd RO with a ratio of 1:2 (1lt Pure:2lt Waste)

and filling my 1000lt IBC tank cost just over £9 including waste water cost too.
(it uses 3000lts to make 1000lt pure)

got 3x 200lt barrels to collect waste water and that helps to water the garden etc.

plus we have a 15m x 10m veg plot in garden to water, lots of pots and other greenhouse plants.
theres 2 adults and 1 child in the house

the bills arent big at all.

Kavos is a touchy subject... The best holiday of my life with a girl ratio of 3-1 ;) however... I didn't intend on taking 2 weeks off work but I can back and I'm still hungover now!!!
As for a water meter I'm just going to hack into a neighbours I'm to tight to pay that kindof money! Lol

Dont worry about it, its peanuts compared to other businesses, eg carpet cleaning, using detergents etc or a shop with rent & rates, and yes i have a water meter at my factory unit and no water meter at home, and i make the water at factor/
