How big is the gap Carlos? In my old van I used bathroom silicone, then painted over it.

An adhesive wont do the job of silicone and vice versa really.
Try fixing first with 'pink grip' it's the best adhesive I've ever used.
Then seal with silicone after to make watertight.
Post some pics if that doesn't work.

I protectakoted the floor in my van and about a couple of inches up the sides, before I did this I sealed the bulk head joins and any other areas of concern with self adhesive lead flashing tape and then painted protectakote over it.
