How highly can slx go?
« on: June 15, 2013, 07:33:42 pm »
I have a slx 30 and already have 2 extensions to take it to 40ft. How many extra sections can I add to it? Ideally I'd like to go upto 60ft

they are the same as a supermax you can use supermax sections etc to whatever length they go up to

Sorry not to answer your question but when using the extensions is it not a problem to

1 get you hose tap etc through the extension
2 get your butt cap off then on again
3 get pole hose through extension
4 attach extension

The reason I am asking is that I am thinking about getting extensions for my slx 25 or another pole for the few jobs I need a bigger pole, would like to know how you get on
Thanks

i have a 35slx and strip it down when i want  to work as an 18 slx right thru to 35slx.
no need to carry the extra weight when not needed.
if i know tomorrow is no 3 storeys and real awkward reaches il strip it down to 18 slx .
i know the ends of the poles are missing a couple end stops but i know how far out each section is now, i pull it out as far as i think then push it back a bit.

18 slx with an aquadaptor is absolute heaven .its like cleaning windows with a garden cane lol.
ive used brodex , streamline before so know the differencein weight.

make sure the pole hose has the male fitting and no protectaball.
end cap comes off in seconds as does adding extensions.

This is what I do Carl the pole is very versatile.  So how high can a super max go?

If you have an SLX30 then you can add the following sections to it:

#7, #8, #9 and 1x #10 section. This would give you about 47ft.

We would not recommend using an SLX above 47ft. If you want to work higher then there is the new SMAX50 HM with the ability to add 2x 5ft #10 extensions or the Xtreme47ft with up to 6 extensions.

The simplest way to add extensions to your SLX pole is to release the quick release gooseneck and disconnect the pole hose from it using the John Guest push-fit connection. Then add the sections to the pole (without the pole hose in the pole). Then slide a new longer hose pack (http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/Telescopic-Pole-Hose-Packs-Hose_Packs.html) up inside the new pole and connect to the gooseneck hose fitting before clamping the gooseneck back in place. This should take about 30 seconds.

Go for a superlite modular for them heights.
I had the smax 35 and found it to be whippy and heavy.
Supetlite is light and not at all bendy.
Takings off all first cleans till march 7th 2014
October  total=  cleaned  extra per month
November = cleaned extra per month
Total £  so far.

how many sections can you add to the slx 25? could do with reaching some awkward velux windows for a good customer.

You can add up to 5 sections to the SLX25 - http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/The-New-SLX---Extension-Sections-SLX_EXT.html

While your here sorry to change subject.

what 4040 membrane would u recommend for very low pressure?

Ideally I would recommended a booster pump for very low pressure as any RO will work better and be cheaper to run with boosted pressure. If you have 40psi + then you can get away with a HF5 membrane, but it will not perform to its best at this pressure.

i do already have a booster pump, my psi when the flushing the membrane is only 14 psi

The psi when flushing the membrane is not an accurate pressure rating.  To get an accurate pressure reading you would need to measure the boosted water pressure with the outlet shut off.  This way you can measure the full resistance pressure of the water flow.  If you already have a booster pump then I would recommend an HF4.

what do mean when you say shutting the outlet off? the waste tap on the membrane? or do you need a special tester for this.
Dave.

Ideally you would shut the water pipe off immediately after the pressure gauge so that the full pressure of the boosted water flow pushes the pressure gauge to it's accurate pressure reading.

i see what u mean, so u would need to fit a tap after the booster pump for example and shut it off.
Dave.

thanks for that, id probabaly have to fit a tap to test it really as the booster pump is after the pre filters.

but something to do if i do have to buy another membrane
Dave.
