Backpack to van fit ?
« on: June 12, 2013, 12:12:08 pm »
Has anyone dismantled a wcw backpack to use as a van kit ?

Reason i ask is ive just bought a van and i have a wcw backpack spare and i have a gardiners back pack too so i was wondering if this is possible without buying a new pump new controller etc .

What is the psi of a wcw backpack pump ?

I only need to use it for a couple of weeks like this .

Any ideas suggestions ?

Cheers

Glad I didn't reply then as my reply would have been that I couldn't see it working.

The backpack that we have is just a low pressure pump that I believe would struggle to push water through 100 meters of minibore let along microbore.

I used my yellow single speed wcw backpack pump and battery for about a month with 60 m of microbore without any issues.

just an update to my reply, yes it worked fine as said before, however when I reverted back to using it as a backpack again the pump lasted about another month, now this could be down to prolonged use as a van mount and more strain on it with microbore or just down to the fact it was getting on to be about 5 years old.
I replaced it with a gardiners one,
Simon ;)

Ive been using a wcw backpack to run 50mtrs minibore  since early may up to now ive had no problems i only clean a few three storey and it works fine, most of the work is rural domestic plus in winter i can just disconnect it and take it indoors.
