How early?
« on: June 10, 2013, 08:43:33 pm »
How early do you turn up on say a 4 weekly schedule?
I'm usually on time but I will go up to 2 days early if it suits and I've not had a complaint yet.

As I don't clean in all weathers, If I am late the previous clean I will go up to 4 days early next clean to get back on track, if they complain (you always get one) I tell them I was late last time and assure them I will not clean any more than 13 times per year.

Never on time always a few days late.
Never every go early if the custie says your early I can tell them the exact date I last cleaned them which will not be early.

I've been a week early on occasion.
Not without reason though.
If I get any negativity I tell them why I'm early. Holiday coming up usually.
If they're still negative I mention my kids.
If they're still negative I would offer them the chance to skip the clean.
So far-if ever I've mentioned the kids, customers seem to understand.
Only domestic work though.
As already said-commercial gets booked in and done no matter what.
If you chop & change days for your benefit they'll think you can do it for theirs and could start binning you off cause of rain/other work going on/they feel like it.

That reply doesn't make sense in this context.

If you have no wish to work all the time then don't turn up early, instead take the 2-3 days off work entirely! :)

It does if you look at it another way.
Say I've something on Thurs and Friday and I don't want to work but I could do them Wed. ;D

I think turning up on a 4 weekly schedule is having a laugh. Ok on an 8 or 12 but not 4.

Where I live people are used to 2 weekly so 4 weekly seems like a long time.
I've got a mate who goes early on 2 weekly ;D

I said "up to" 4 days early. My work is split into 4 weeks of 4 days work, routes 1-4,5-8,9-12,13-16. I leave 1 spare day per week to allow for bad weather, staff sickies, holidays etc. If for these reasons mentioned I am late meaning route 4 then overlaps into the start of the second week routes 5-8, the next cycle I will bring route 4 back to week 1. If the weather is really bad I have quite a lot of fortnightlys which get missed out.
