Hi All

I have an intermittent problem (that is getting worse) whereby one of my pumps stops working when i turn my pole tap back on and there is just a solid green light on the digital varietream controller... Sometimes it kicks into life again if I increase the controller to 8 or above, but this doesn't always work.

I'm thinking its one of 4 things...

1. A wiring problem.
2. Varistream controller problem.
3. Pump problem.
4. Pump pressure switch problem.

Has anyone else ever experienced the same, and if you have what was the problem?

i have had this as well tried all sorts my answer it seems to me when the battery voltage drops right down it throws the controller in to doing strange things i find when battery is full works fine all so leisure battery's are hard to charge with a normal charger so i have gone over to using an 6 stage intelligent charger this will desulphinate your battery and do a slow charge which is better for battery

When it doesn't always work, how do you get the pump started then?

when anything like this happens its normally always the stupid useless flow controllers do yourself a favour wire straight on the battery full flow 100psi work quicker earn more per hour and your pump wont give you any problems (aquadapter as well)

I had same bad connection to battery one replaced wire all was good

Firstly,
If you have a Varistream, then you should by pass the pressure switch. Having the controller wired through the pressure switch isn't recommended. A friend of mine did that and it messed around with his Varistream controller. After he removed the pressure switch from the circuit, everything behaved normally and has for the last 5 years.

I have a feeling it might be a wiring issue so I'll have a look at the wiring this evening and take it from there.

Check ALL the wires under the pump were they come out I've they have been subject to sitting in water it sometimes eats at the wire. Any joins u have made remake em cut back the wire. Corroded wires cause havoc. What pump you using? Where you taken power from?

Agreed... Just get rid of the varistream, they are pointless!!
