I've got a cheapo submersible pump with a length of garden hose coming off of it (just out the tank hole). Then I have a hose reel with  enough hose on it to reach the van  ;D
You can't polish a turd

You can get a decent pump from machine mart for about £50, I use a 1.25" hose to fill a 650 ltr tank and can do it in under 10 mins!! did years of the 1/2 " hose took forever.

The hose i use is from local aquatics shop paid £64.00 for 30 mtrs its about 1 1/2 inches works great although you can get the green pvc hose of ebay for £38.00 for 25 metres  .

Bigger the hose the better will be far quicker to transfer water i bought my SIP  submersible pump from www.toolstation.com   for £55.76 the silveline one is cheaper but it took toppled over when tank was almost empty and stopped working altogether . Mike
