Commercial work pricing - Advice please
« on: May 28, 2013, 09:07:02 pm »
Hi all.

Wonder if you could help us.  We have been asked to price our first comercial window cleaning job for a works unit that has two floors of windows so not too high.  Not sure on how many windows yet until we go and take a look over the next few days.  I believe each window is approc 1 metre square.  I wonder if you could give me some advice on how best to structure my pricing guide for commercial jobs like this as i am so new to this area of work dont wanty to go in too low, nor too high.

Any advice welcomes.  Many thanks.

Hi James, congrats on your first commercial quote.
First and foremost-try and get on with the caretaker/site manager or equivalent.
They may just tell you what they are paying/have paid in the past.
Or ask them if they have a budget? Again-it might near enough give you a price.

Quoting blind-if it's 2 floors you should have no trouble-quote it like a house and knock 10% off. Bigger windows are quicker to clean, especially if you fit a wider brush.

All the best with it

thanks for your advice much appreciated.  Do you guys tend to do generic Risk Assessments for all commcercial or do you tend to tailor them for each individual commercial Job.  is there any H&S I need to consider as it is a waste services building so lots of vehicles and machinery in the rear of their building?.  I have a generic one but want to cover myself.

Cheers for your help

Ask for a copy of theirs on site.
If it looks like it was done on the back of a fAg packet-use generic, hope for the best.
If theirs is very detailed you have got a base to write yours from.

Hey bud-not approached them yet.
I had 12 days off when Bentley was born-only went back yesterday.
I said to Tamsin to start again on Monday-think she'll get onto them then.
Rather than post here, can you send me the guys name and number by text please bud?

Cheers.
Meant to reply after you said in another post about liking my wagon-cheers.
Not got my thinking head back on yet.

Oh, and keep your ears open if anyone is selling a 160gb black iPod-some scroat robbed my car last night.
Made me chuckle-gdmfsob was too stupid to work out how the glove box opened so didn't get mine or Tamsin's sunnies.
I was stupid enough to leave it unlocked though so...
