got a few houses that are just a bit to far to make it worth doing , im talking 15 mins drive to make a tenner , actual jobs don't take long and custys are best ever , my first year I was happy but now I just don't thing its cost productive , im not going to give them away , just wondering if I should try an swop , for some closer to home , or sell [ 3 times the price seems about fair ] or rent , which I personly cant see that ever working ,       ......................................................... im in huyton , Liverpool ... 2 houses in Kensington , 1 in otterspool , 1 in speke , 1 in mossley hill , not one take more than 15 mins , i may weed out a few more as well if I can sort anything with these , as I say I wont give em away and I wont sell for less than 3 times , because ive worked hard to get these and im reluctant to lose good custys but my round does need looking at

Honestly? No way would I charge anyone for one or two jobs unless they were big houses, find the local wfp man and give them to him, you build relationships this way and they will also do the same to you. No way would I ever sell a job to anyone else even if I didn't know him if it was only one or two houses.

ste I know what you mean lad , but ive done that on a few occasions and seen one certain cleaner [ not on here ] then travel from widnes to huyton for a 12 pound job , I never seem to get any favours in return [ mr purewater being the exception ] not everyone is as helpful as we are , plenty of KRAVES about if you know what I mean lad

Well if you have worked hard to gain and maintain the customers then you should be selling them if they are to go.
After all you are in business or are you registered as a charitable organisation?

Hey less of the 'lad' I've met you an your not 15 haha.

Thing is I've given work away before. Non to colin yet but to others, why? Well it doesn't make sense for me to travel 10 miles for one job nor does it make me money, yes we do them at first as we all think we can maybe build on that one house an get a tidy little round going. I've got a few like this now that I've built on. I have one house I do not far from colins, so you may ask why don't I give that to him? Simple I know the bloke and he's a good friend so I do him favours an he does the same so I don't think Colin would appreciate me passing on a freebie. If however I got more enquries around there then I'd pass them straight on to him

Actually I've passed hia number onto a commercial job I do an recently he's passed mine onto someone local to me. Its swings an roundabouts. I have a good relationship with a lot of cleaners and if they need anything even up to lending my van then I would do this no problem providing it was free when they needed it.

This is not about business in the sense of making money its about helping you grow. Yes you may say well how can that be as I'm giving my work away? Well for arguments sake let's say you gave someone 5 houses right by where they work. They then think your great an then give you the same or more even local to your work. From now on when you get more calls in the area you gave away then you pass it on to other other bloke an he does the same. You could end up much better off not only by having work local but also the fact your costs are kept to a minimum as you don't travel as much.

Its swings an roundabouts. Would I buy 'one' house off someone? No I don't think so. Would I sell 'one' house or even two for that matter? Definatly not.

All in my opinion mate but I just don't understand it as you seem to be tarring everyone with the same brush due to the fact you've passed on one job only to find he hasn't done the same back. Mike cam does one right by me an next door to one of mine. Does he give it to me? No an I don't expect him to. Why? Cos he has cleaned this womans for years an she is an old customer who moved. Would I clean it as a one off for him? Yes. Would I offer a price to her? No way as he's a mate

I would find the right person to give the work to,
Make sure the customers will be looked after, then you
Will have a windy who is an allie and will "hopefully"
Return the favor one day!

I have a good few people on here who I have given
Work to and also lent equipment or lent a hand
When they have been stuck and most if not all have
Returned the favor,

But the best thing about working like this is that
The next time I have a problem i no I can pick up
The phone and some one will help me out! Weather it's
Equipment or advice etc

I've even had a guy recently call me up with a
Nice contract for me coz he couldn't get his paper
Work right but I just did the rams for him and he kept
The contract instead of loosening it! He was very great full!
And offered me money for my trouble which
I didn't except,

If you sell it i can't see many giving you work in the future
If you don't pass it to them  ( like we Do)
