BBQ grills & oven racking cleaning
« on: February 09, 2004, 02:08:17 pm »
Can anyone tell me the best & quickest way to clean very heavily burnt on carbon & grease off bbq grills & oven racking?

I have heard the only way to get them looking brand new is to dip them?

We need to have them cleaned within 1-2 hours :-/

I purchased a plastic water tank that you would normally put in a loft ( with a lid ) put a caustic soda / water mix in , (be cautious as this can burn so use industrial glves that go up to the elbows ) place grills etc in , leave for one to one and a half hours , take out and rinse , works brilliantly.

For speed you need Brillo oven cleaner 5 times the price of TO4 but a much superior product

Good luck

I have tried brillo but still prefer TO4

'' like hot butter on breakfast toast''

try both and of course make up your own mind which you prefer.

As i stated in a previous post, my prefrence is the TO4 over the brillo. I have tried them both and the TO4 is my personal choice.

As also stated to April Fresh they should try both and make up their own mind as to which they prefer, at the end of the day we all have our dislikes and likes as to the products we use.

Sadly you had to come back with an attempt at a sarcastic remark, I wasn't putting your choice down just stating that i had in fact tried them both and I do prefer TO4, some people may prefer Brillo, who knows?

In fact the TO4 is very soapy I find but it liquifies the grease and has certainly cut down my time i spend cleaning those pesky ovens.
