Paint on frames
« on: May 13, 2013, 10:09:02 pm »
Hi, I've been asked today if I could clean paint specks off some brown plastic frames, the house has just been painted. I tried a non scratch pad which worked but is a little time consuming. Anyone got a better way? Thank you in advance. Duncan

I think that's a case of run forest run.

I've yet to find an easy way to clean paint, and especially spots of paint, off of frames that doesn't take a ridiculous amount of time - scraper or no scraper.

If it's a water based masonry paint then careful use of a house hold steam cleaner works well well.     If it's oil / resin based masonry paint or oil based gloss...dynamite ?

tbh, the way you've suggested is probably best (with a bit of white spirit)
I would'nt trust myself with a scraper on a plastic frame !
But as most have said......run, unless you are going to get paid really well for it.

If its water based just use pure water because it strips car paint off. ;D
Takings off all first cleans till march 7th 2014
October  total=  cleaned  extra per month
November = cleaned extra per month
Total £  so far.

Scraper with soapy solution sprayed on so the blade glides on the plastic frame but you have got to be very  careful , Or white spirit on a cloth maybe a safer option if you are no good with a scraper . Mike
