Yer I fine it does, if not better, it's quicker especially on first cleans or conservatory roofs that's full of green algee.

it does work well but it also brings a new set of problems. Normal hose to reel isn't up to the heat, insurance can be a problem, getting the flow just right to fire the gas can be tricky, venting needs to be done really, normal microbore can go stiff with the heat - thermobore is better but still not perfect, some brushes curl up with hot water.

I had a pane crack this winter with 30 degrees - £103 to get it changed.
I turned mine off once the temperatures came back up - just a waste of gas otherwise.

like dave said,
hose from heater to reel needs to upgraded, i used house grade plumbing pipe and fittings.

check with insurance too, didnt have a problem with mine, just said get a lpg sticker and will be fine.

flow was easy to get right, 2 minutes to adjust the low pressure screw on gas heater and sorted, they all have these.

vent wise, i just have doors open and that works for me,

not sure how the micro bore goes stiff tho, mine always soft, and stiff when the cold is runnin.

some brushes can curl due to heat, i use gardiners and a vikin when needed a good scrub.

glass can crack in cold temps, but i not have had that happen and i worked down to -9 just got to alter the temp of the water and look at the glass, older glass cant take it that well.

dont see it a waste of gas personally, £13 for 2 weeks work, cheap a chips! plus can get more done in a day so make more per day.

How do you get more done in a day? Do you scrub less or rinse less. I can't see how it can be any quicker on maintenance cleans unless you physically miss something out that you'd normally do with cold water.

It's better on bird poo granted but the scrubbing action is identical on normal cleaning - you can't possible see the dirt coming off.

To be honest, I think the speed difference is marginal, I think we all imagine its quicker because its warmer water, and we know that cleans better than cold water. But unless you have it set really high, 60deg + it's not going to make you clean much faster, especially as save said, it's no quicker on maintenance cleans.

I have kept mine on as I like the hoses being soft, otherwise the thermobore is horrible when cold.

One thing I have noticed it deffinetly make a sufferance one is snail trails, hot water removed these much quicker.

Never had a big problem with hot, I wouldn't be without it. Between the 2 of us I reckon we get an extra 3 smallish jobs done a day which more than pays for the gas.  I wouldn't recommend the L5 unit I'd have a look at the 8L units on eBay, cheaper and better in my opinion. I've used the L5 for 2 years and its very temperamental.

I think the L5 ecotemp is an American company, sad to say that the reliability and construction of the much cheaper 8L Chinese unit is much better. The L5 is ok but there is a lot better out there. You should be able to get a good water heater for under £100.
