I have been looking into water chargers and trying to find out how much it costs for 1000 liters (cubic meter/unit) and i been told by a lot off ppl its like between 8 and 9 pounds which seem a awful lot so managed to spk to a lady who used to work for the water board and said its about 1.64 per cubic meter then they charge 90% of the usage at £2.81 for sewage so am i right in thinking that a cubic meter is about £4.45 i no that it differs in diff parts of country but i live in essex colchester way can anyone agree with this does it sound right.?

Don't forget your sub meter.
You don't wanna pay sewerage for water you use as pure.
Got my 2nd rebate through this week

A meter (on eBay for £30) that measures how much pure you use-therefore not going down the drain therefore not chargeable as sewerage.
Fit it, take a picture of it showing a 000 reading.
Tell your water company what you've done-while it's still at 000.
Then every 6 months, call them with the reading and they will knock it off your server age bill.
When you call them TELL them this is what you're doing.
A few on here have said they've ASKED their water provider and got told 'no'
The ones I know of that have been confident and TOLD them have never had any issue.

1000 liters is a cubic meter or it will come up on your water bill as 1000 liters = 1 unit

Not to pick you up but it should be 'tonne' or 'metric ton' to technically be 1000kg.

The imperial ton is slightly different (can't remember which way)

And, annoyingly, if you buy a ton/tonne/metric ton of (say) gravel from Jewsons or such, they're only 850kg!

A bit like going into KFC saying 'ill have a coke and a chicken wing' they confirm your order saying 'a Pepsi and a chicken wing'
In Jewsons you say 'I need a tonne of type 2 buff and a tube of gripfill' they confirm your order by saying 'so, that's one bulk bag of type 2 buff and a tube of gripfill'

After an almighty cockup that took years to come to light and ages to sort!
I was paying £550 a month for quite a while.
It was debt I had (unknowingly) accrued that needed to be paid off.
Settled down now though.
Your friend may be telling the truth but it'll even out over time

blimey that's a lot of money hope my bill don't come to that much i am  on a meter only had my wfp for about 3 weeks now so still have not had my first bill though yet not looking ford to it lol
