RAMS

Looking into offering a service for properly written risk assessments & method statements.

I can see that there is a market for it but what is the view on here as far as a value?

If a service was offered what would you want from it?

From my point of view there would have to be some set up for each 'client' - this would be having your logo, letterhead, having detailed photos of the works and a breakdown of requirements and I would need to know about your set up, kit used etc.

Thoughts please

You have clients who do your risk assessments for you - that's an interesting way of working.

What do they know about your kit, your set up procedure, your working practises.

Do you sign them when you get on site or do they send them to you?

I use HS Direct, and pay £400 per year. That includes as much time as I need per RAMS with a consultant

You could always do the FWC course for half that price and learn how to do them very quickly yourself

From what I can tell from the website the cost includes access to the cloud based system and an easy email system when needed.

It would be good if someone who uses it could offer some info.

Do they include using your logo, letterhead on the paperwork because I have paid someone to do mine and I then had to do a load of work to get it on there.

Could someone let me have a look at what one of the Risk assessments & method statements look like, possibly by email link.

Give you some kind of idea - mine can take hours and a recent one was 20 pages of method statement.

They are a step by step through my works, they are larger works and they can have more than one service offered.

They don't earn as much as me ;D

Fuel stations can be a canopy underside, soffit, kiosk walls, window cleaning, pressure washing to concrete/block flooring.

They can be live and the RAMS have to be very tight.

I know that the RAMS are read on my works and I also know they take a dim view on generic and basic paperwork!

Yes to the logo. Plus they are doing me a RAMS I can use as a template.
