be wary from now on, iv learned that once you have a ticket ,that vehicle has a redflag by it on the copcars computer .
I got done fer speedin, then chased thru a 1 way system  a month later and the cop who gave me 1way  the ticket told me this

I got done a few years ago for that bud.
There was a mobile camera at the bridge on Barrowby road by Asda specifically looking for no seat belts. 5-0 came out in the middle of the road at Winchester Road. £30.
I'm 99% sure it doesn't go against you in the same way as a speeding ticket.
We get grief (and £60 fine) for the private plate in the car too.

George got quite a number of citations (is that the right word?) for not wearing his seatbelt.

And got done in court for cutting up traffic on Wharf road!
That cost him a few quid.

don't forget that some of us with bigger van have a different national speed limit. I have a MWB van on a motor way I can still do 70MPH however on a dual can only do 60MPH instead of 70MPH and on a single its 50MPH instead of 60MPH.  some van drivers forget that they have restrictions, not only that some cameras have variable speeds built in. lorrys are even slower, but every one knows about lorrys being slower, but in a van it can be easily forgotten

Hmmm well if you had been done for speeding, drinking or talking on the phone I would have slated you. But not wearing a seatbelt? Surely unlike the other offences the only person you would hurt is yourself  :-\

Never really understood that law.

Well luckily for us here in the Midlands we have had all our speed cameras turned off lol .

speed camera can be an hazard sometimes, maybe that guy with is mat and cones can go round to cover them all up.  speed limits are guidance or recommendation.

however sometimes theres such thing as driving to the conditions. there no danger doing 40MPH in a 30zone 3am in the morning but the law stops you.

however you could do 30MPH in a 30MPH zone not breaking the law, but its a foggy day and have no lights on with kids around, not get done for speeding however its dangerous.

its as if they want to stop speeding and collect money from tickets, but have no interest in dangerous driving

Dan,  the guy running the course on ransomes europark  is smarmy. few yrs back he tried to stitch me up ,I did get paid but not without a fight  and pushed bamboo into his door locks on my way out .

when you go in the door tell him uve arrived on foot or he will get you to move your van to a faraway carpark  which is his way of being the boss

I got off with a no seat belt in court a couple of years ago, I showed them my insurance certificate, then I told them that I was collecting and honestly thought that I was exempt...Charge dropped. ;D

I did have to admit to the MOT being past date though...

Brilliant Bobby.

I agree, that speeding ticket has put you to the top of the most wanted list.

Nothing to do with being paranoid though!

I did an awareness course 3 years ago and it's much better than getting the points.

1 thing I hadn't thought about before the course was a question and answer session on why a van driver died while waiting to turn right into a customers drive.

And apparently it turned out that he was shunted (not hard) from a car behind and because he already had his wheels turning right the shunt caused his car to go right, into the path of a lorry that flattened him.

I'd never given that much thought before but I always keep the steering straight now until I move.

Apart from that little nugget all you had to do was turn up and take part. Easy peasy.
