Good price if you know how
« on: April 18, 2013, 09:45:01 pm »
I clean communal area carpets, but think I charge too little. I clean 1 flight of stairs (15) + a corridor 1 metre x 3 metres. I charge £65 per block. Clean with encap will take a morning to do. (for 4 blocks) Was speaking with a resident who had phoned me for a price to do the work, cos the property management in his opinion were taking the pi55. If someone can give me the property managements fee for this work, I will buy them a raffle ticket for the nacca day. I am also welcome to here your fee for this work.

By themselves I would say the price is slightly low, but as you are doing 4 of them   On the  same site with no travel betreen then your price is ok.

How are you encapping the stairs?

I do one like this where the resident committee arrange it as the management company wanted £325 per building,I charge £75 to £100 as one has spiral staircase and bigger lobby. The tenants already pay £75 a month management fee for upkeep of grounds, bin washing, windows etc. They have now taken it on themselves to arrange everything themselves including decorating, curtains, daily cleaning etc

When we first started doing flood restoration for a utilities company, on the first job I met one of their engineers. It was only a small job pressure washing silt off a driveway. He asks how much the job would be and I replied about 150 + vat. He nearly collapsed. :o

They had been getting charged 3k for similar jobs by a facilities maintanence company and that was 12 years ago.
