Best detailing cloths?
« on: April 17, 2013, 09:19:46 am »
Just wondered what everyone uses. I use Unger large blue ones but they tend to leave powdery marks after a few months use. I do wash them every couple of weeks too! I used to use good old fashioned scrim but don't feel it does a good job anymore.

Yes! I seen these at the cleaning show and ordered some
When I got home
There grey with little scouring pads in the corners
Really handy tbh

They are expensive but worth it I think
The small ones are a great pocket cloth when
Poling!
keep it simple

I've seen those at a local supplier and just assumed they were just another gimmick to get me to spend more on a variation of what I already use which is the large green Unger microfibres.

In what way are they better? Thanks.

Scrim......

If you're trad and use em every day wash out every night (even a rince out at lunch).
If wfp and use occasionaly then wash out weekly.
A clean, damp Scrim, covers a multitude of sin. ;-)

Agree with that, scrim is worth its weight in gold. I own about 50 used by several workers and they can vary from soft as silk to as  rough as sackcloth   depending on batch

Scrim- every time. Used many different types & brand of M/F & none of them come close to scrim for detailing!!

Unger grade A pre-washed is my choice. ;)

scrim for me. tried the micro fibre cloths they get wet to easy & need changing all the time. a decent bit of scrim will last for hours & will still not be to wet to use.

i use both microfibre cloths and scrim cloths.each have their uses.

i mainly use unger large green microfibres for detailing however if its a damp, drizzly, rainy day a good worn in scrim is miles better and doesnt get as wet as quickly.

i use the cheap towelling variety of microfibres from the pound shop as sill cloths.
price higher/work harder!
