What do you think about using a safety mat over hose in a public place when all other measures have been taken?

It's over the top and not needed.
It's about right and should be standard practice

i just think your being paranoid and defo over thinking this.

just put a cone out and make sure hose is flat to the ground.itll save you time and you just might be able to squeeze a few more jobs in a day and make more money.

WHAT IF THE POLE FALLS OVER? ;D

What pole?

The one you use on the end of your yellow hose that's covered with a yellow mat in case someone trips over your yellow hose.
The pen is mightier than the sword (and a lot easier to write with!)

I'm cleaning two of Chatsworth Estates pubs tomorrow. Guests coming and going all day. Just the job for outside the main door!

Lift it out empty, fill, use and repeat as required. If this is too much to lift empty then maybe window cleaning is not for you!! Maybe a nice job in a bubble wrap factory or summit!  ;)

Factory work is not for me. I doubt they would pay me £200 per day!

I have used backpacks in the past. What a massive faff.

I really don't see what is so troublesome about taking 15 seconds to put a mat over the hose.

im not WFP  but if I was id fear the hose- over- path issue-   pound to a pinch o muck somebody will trip  at sometime (some on purpose)  and the risk is high

old folk fall hard and fast,  ye gods what would you do then??

this reminds me , a few years back a lonely man customer followed me as I was returning to my van with the ladders on my shoulder and he hit his forehead on my ladder feet /although I was walking away from him at a fair pace ,he managed to nut the feet and then cried out "oh,oh my head blah blah" ,
now im sure he did it on purpose, wanted to start a claim ,not for the money, but for THE ATTENTION and form filling  . luckily for me,there was no mark on his forehead and the moment passed

I think what happens is that when we start with wfp we are aware of the dangers and open to 'best practice'. As time goes on we get a bit complacent as we work with the hose every day. Passers by aren't really expecting it, especially the old or partially sighted.

Not to my knowledge no. That said I don't wish to be the first.

I remember a chap being done for someone tripping over his black hose. Now we all use yellow.

It only takes one!
