Watchman sprayer
« on: April 07, 2013, 08:47:03 am »
Anyone have one of these, they are red. It stopped pumping the other day and I think it's the seal/o-ring on the base of the pump. I can't find anywhere to find a replacement though. I picked it up in a job lot of stuff but it's actually decent.

Try googling it.

First sprayer I ever had was one of these and they were good.
Even had a pressure gauge.
I am just about to throw it away now as the pump o ring has
perished and the lugs for tightening the top have worn off.
Cheaper to buy new.
Impossible done straight away, miracles can take a little longer.

Yea I googled it, I know where to buy them but like yours my pump o ring has gone and it isn't a standard o ring, it's thicker. I was wondring if you can buy a repair kit anywhere?

If not then i'll probably buy a IK9.

Neil

If your going to spend £100+ on a pump up sprayer, you might as well spend a bit more and get a Gloria.

I have this one http://www.cheapmowers.com/acatalog/Gloria__Heavy_Duty_Sprayer__10L_Type_410_T.html. There's also a 5litre version which is £165.

Even though it looks like its a supporter of the Ukrainian national  football team its an excellent sprayer! I've used it for 2 years solid and not had to replace anything on it yet (touching wood). I've heard people who have had 15+ years service out of them and still going strong.

I've had all the IK9s, Orions, etc. and every single one I had problems with, or broke down in some form.

Yea the O- ring. The IK9 is only £50, don't want to really be spending anywhere near £100 at the minute but I have looked at the WCW one and the Gloria.

The IK9s with the metal wands are about £100.

If your looking for a short term fix get this one of the £20 sprayers from BnQ http://search.diy.com/search#w=sprayer&asug=

They're not too bad.

This is what I use. I have 4 of them, 1 for each of my regular pre-sprays.

you don't get a lot of wastage as they are only 2 litres. I still have ones from 2 years ago... it will take a lot of years to spend £50 on them, as you some do on 1 sprayer that needs to be emptied every time you change solutions.
