Any constructive criticism?

I would say that my logo at the top is too small and that the main pic slide show is overpowering. It's not all bad though.

The logo is too small,

The slide show I think requires overlaying text to make the piont of the photo, so when the picture of the dog appears the text says "do you suffer from unpleasant doggy smells"

Or...

When the office photo shows it has " we offer an out of hours cleaning service"

Do you get what I mean? A picture can paint a 1000 words but if you overlay text onto the picture you get 1015 words ;)

Your slides show is there not just to fill a space but to give information to the viewer, rather than hope your pictures projects the message you want, overlaid text can say exactly what you want to say. The problem is it might clutter the photo but it might be worth trying some text to see if it looks Ok.

But these points are just suggestion, I like he overall look of he site

Very fair points Mike. I've copied your whole message over to the web designers

I,m busy having a site developed at the minute too !
Overall not bad. Personally, like you say you need your logo bigger A LOT BIGGER...shout out who you are and get the pic of your van and a pic YOU at the top. Intoduce yourself.
Maybe add a bit more colour and ditch the pic of the woman and child...looks a bit cheesy.

I'll stick mine on when nearer completion  ;)

Is it a CMS site one that you can manage yourself like wordpress?

Yes, it is done in Wordpress so it's quite easy to change content and add blog posts.

I like it, glad to see the alien on the wand...... ;)

Is it a responsive web design?

For those aren't sure what that means,

Responsive web design (RWD) is a web design approach aimed at crafting sites to provide an optimal viewing experience—easy reading and navigation with a minimum of resizing, panning, and scrolling—across a wide range of devices (from desktop computer monitors to mobile phones).

We've had our site redesigned adding content next week but if you view on iPhone, blackberry, you'll noticed the difference.  www.topmarkcleaning.co.uk

It cost £400 from Nicki at Loumac media. We're adding a shopping cart to sell leather cleaning products too.

Vicki not Mark this evening.  :-*

Wilkinsonmoor's own website looks awful on my ipad, which concerns me slightly.

Yes, it is RWD - make the window smaller and watch it all adjust to fit  :)

Just looked again and I think the text over the pictures is a big improvement, although I think they they need to change quicker, you would navigate away from the home page  before the photos change so you can't see the range of services on offer.

It takes second to see and read the photo I would give them a 3 second rotation

I would give the text a little bit more thought, but the direct link to different pages is a good idea.

Mike

Thanks for your input. I agree that it looks a lot better after your suggestions were implimented. I agree re: the gallery - I will ask them to speed up the rotation.

Anything in particular about the text that stodd out as not too good?
