Trial of simple travertine clean & seal method
« on: March 29, 2013, 06:49:48 pm »
Just tried a quick method of cleaning and sealing a travertine floor which worked very well. Used some high alkaline to clean - started to polish using some Rhino pads from coarse to fine grit then let the floor dry. Did a couple of very quick dry passes with the very fine pad and moved onto spraying the floor lightly with a water based sealant. Spread it about with a flat microfibre mop and went back over it with the rocky with a white pad on it which brought out a nice sheen to the floor. Customer was happy as she is about to put her house on the market and the floor was really letting the house down. I am new to this game but this method seemed good to me as it was pretty quick and easy to get a nice finish even though I'm still a novice
