Carpex - show discounts?
« on: February 20, 2006, 07:14:41 pm »
I will be a new visitor to Carpex this year ( I have a few items that I wish to buy ) Is it worth waiting to see if any show discounts are on offer or not as the case maybe? Previous visitors to the show might be able to help, is there generally a good selection of machines / tools etc. available.

Thanx Mark

Probably the one disapointment is that there is never much on offer to buy there & then at these shows.

They will take orders and 1 or 2 stands will be selling goods on the stand but not the big boys.

How can you walk away with a TM?

Are you going?

Len as hit the nail right on the head...the logistics of taking so much bulky stock to a two day just in case a punter wants to buy is just not practical .

Maybe with small items it may work.

Hi All

At these shows they only have a very small space i(for a very large amount of money) in which to work to! it is just not possible you use your stand as a shop it has to be used as a marketing tool.

Hope  this helps

Bought a machine at a show a few years back. The company was running a discount offer at the show but never informed me they were running an offer during the show, nor did I see any signs up. I by chance noticed an advert in a trade mag,a few weeks later, I got on the phone and let rip. I was then given the offer price. So keep you eyes open.

It was Chris S favourite guys.

Hi Guys,

From memory Dry Fusion were the only ones offering a show package at Carpex 2004 . although I think Hydramaster were offering half price shelving with a truckmount. They also gave away scones and clotted cream ;D

Cheers

we want free pasties, we want free pasties, we want free pasties!  ;D

i can see the point about large items, for me at least it would be an incentive to go if i new i could get a brand new wand at a slashed price!   for eg.

Mark is fine, spoke to him the other day, he is still 100% into carpet cleaning but wont be going to the show.

He still has the Photography business especially in the Summer.

Not sure why he dosn't come on the boards anymore.
If your looking in Mark, post something!
