I don't even mention that I use wfp, why put potential customers off?
Turn up, do a good job and just explain the system if they ask.

Thanks

I thought it takes a few cleans to get a perfect result, and wondered whether to warn them about it etc?

I've got several jobs with knackered flaky frames too, should I dump them or explain why my new system won't be any good in their case? (I definitely don't want to use a ladder anymore - EVER)

Only explain to the customers that ask.

Only explain to the customers that complain.

Remember - the customer does not decide how YOU clean their windows, if they say 'your not cleaning my windows with that thing' they just say 'cheers then' (if you do not need that customers of course)

I personally did not lose any customers due to switching to WFP.

Nonsense, done properly you will get perfect results every time, even new cleans

Yes, in an ideal world. But you have to balance time with quality. My view is that a first clean can not be guaranteed perfect unless you clean, then allow to thoroughly dry including vents, then re clean glass only.

I give every new customer a letter explaining wfp. First cleans can be tricky, you don't know if it will dry streak free when you leave. If it does and you have not explained, they are just going to think you are crap and/or wfp doesn't work.

I also use this opportunity to explain payment procedures and terms and that wfp will work in most weather.

I explained the changeover with a letter and had little problem. First time round we just did the tops, then after a while top and bottoms. There were rounds that we still tradded but when we split the round I managed to loose most of them.

Just type something up to tell them what you are doing and why, ask them to be patient as you are still learning how it works and take your time.

Communication is the oil in the machine, if you don't have it you will get problems.

I think I'd be happier leaving some info - especially as I'll be new to WFP myself.

Have any of you got any specimen wording I can pinch please?

If that's what you want to do fire away mate. I did. I felt more comfortable as a result of it. Fact is they're used to traditional method it's human nature they'll query why.

In the same way as others are saying clean them as you like its your business; I say educate them as you like, and give them some literature on the subject.

It only takes one clean for them to be clean.
Provided its done the right way.

I'm sure that is the case, but I'll be new to WFP.

Funny thing is I've had 3 WFP demos over the last few years at my home, and 2 out of the 3 left spots and even runs

If you are brand new to wfp then yes, you will no doubt have a few first cleans that don't look perfect after it's all dried out.
You need to offer your customers a guarantee that you will come back and rinse them again free of charge until they are happy with the windows, that way they can't really grumble and it gives you time to master it. Eventually if you learn from your mistakes you will start getting most of your first cleans right.

Due to weather, my round is quite a bit behind.

The last thing I want to do is turn up and leave a sub-standard job.

I think it's better (for me) to leave something for them to read and understand.

Just not sure of the wording

How about this?

Just the job, with your permission I'll personalise it for my own use and use it with my customers.

Many thanks  ;)
