Black ceramic matt floor tiles
« on: March 20, 2013, 04:26:07 pm »
Hi a client of mine will be opening a new coffee shop on friday they have asked me to give the floor a clean to remove builders dust and a few spots of paint here & there. It is a new floor with black matt finish ceramic with white grouting. I will give a thorough vacuum, remove the few paint spots and clean with a little white vinegar and warm water. The client has asked if I can put a shine on the floor (not a seal) I did tell my client if he wanted the floor shiny then he should not have put down matt finished tiles. so what if anything other than a wax polish could be used to bring it up a bit?????
Much thanks
Reg

eh! what you mean NO- you mean no polish no wax - I did tell custy i would enquire if there is some "magic" potion - taking into account they are made to the matt look for that purpose. I have also informed him that any form of polish could increase slips when people spill coffee ect. I will tell custy I have searched the """specialist floor boffins forum" and NO they are best left just clean... 8)

Before I offer you advice please clarify whether the tiles are Ceramic?  Are you sure?  Usually they are porcelain in coffee shops!!!!   Additionally if you change the slip co-efficient on the floor by adding wax or sealers and someone slips they are perfectly within their rights to sue the coffee shop owner and he is perfectly within his rights to counter sue you!
