I'm not going to name the company on here, however if you are based in Walsall and have had a new site built recently, then you need to contact me at your earliest opportunity.

You have copied and pasted large chunks, even pages, of my website. A site that I spent hundreds of hours writing unique content for - only for you to press a button on your computer and plagiarize it !!

Do the decent thing and make contact with me, or simply remove the offending text - which will be most of your site.

To be fair, they may be an innocent Party. They may have paid someone in good faith, who has then just copied your stuff and told them a pack of lies.

I'd be interested in the outcome, no names needed, just whether a local (Walsall) web designer is up to no good.

If possible, post an update after speaking to them.

What really pees me off, is that I spent thousands having that site built and nearly six months writing the content - a couple of hours each night.

Then someone comes along and copies/pastes it and hasn't even got the sense to remove the name of the area I work in.

I'd give them 7 days to remove the content.

If they don't respond, just send a request to google and they will remove the site from search results. They will also know when the content was added.

I see this Company are registered at a small terrace house. I know the area well  . My guess would be a young student type making a few bob on the side. There's a chance that there isn't even a Carpet Cleaner involved, might be setting up to sell on.

Definitely interesting how this pans out, including the support you get from Google. Raises the question of who really Polices such things and how effective are they for SME's.

Any web designer with half a brain should know not to scrape content from another site.
Quite possibly the carpet cleaner has seen the the link on here and thought, that looks good, we'll have some of that.

Then there is the problem that the googles algo may not be able to make ups it's mind which is the original content and penalise either one site or another for duplicate spam. Google are certainly tightening up on this.
