ic , the reason why i thought ill put this "take advantage of our popular 2 monthly cleaning schedule and loyal customer discounts" was just to give me an edge with the people who want it but know most work monthly im wondering if this sofens them up a bit or does it over complicate things as i know all what most customers think is "i want my windows cleaned"

I always work out my leaflet target to a return of 0.2% per thousand That way i always know that i will hit my targets

I always get more than 2 per thousand on average  ;)

Good luck Paul

I have never read such nonsense as I dont knock because I dont like people knocking on my door. That just taking for granted that all customers are just like you. Have you ever sat and thought of the image we as window cleaners have  in the public `s mind.Being able to see the face of the window cleaner can just be the deciding factor in taking you on to clean there windows. This personal touch IMO is a very important in our game.
Spending good money to print and deliver leaflets is a waste of money. Talk to the customers is a very convincing way to rake in a work.I only knock and never come home empty handed.
Printing 25,000 leaflets is a vote of the fear of knocking doors some have.

The best way to gain new customers is to go and knock the door and explain what your offering.

Its all the most challenging. Finding the balance of the 2 and knocking 30/40 doors a week WILL get your round huge.

Leaflets a waste of money? I disagree, I have never canvassed a single customer (not because I think it wont work) but we now have 1267 customer soley from leafleting. Must be doing something right!!

For every 1000 leaflets we put out I would expect to get between 3-7 customers. It doesnot happen overnight, we get responses from leaflets dropped over 6 months ago. I know we are in a rural location and everybody knows everyone else and I'm sure people ask their friends if they know of us, but leafleting works for us. It is a simple a4  thing I knocked up my self. If you want a copy just ask

What ever you do don't send them out with a local paper you might as well burn them for the return you get  :( :(

We had almost exactly 1/3 the return from local papers compared to solus delivery.

However, they cost almost exactly 1/3 as much to deliver, so it was just as good on the basis that matters, namely cost per customer.

Here goes: We offer 6-weekly and 12-weekly.  Most customers take 12-weekly.  That suggest a pent-up need for less frequent cleaning.  We don't live in a world of coal fires any more and people have noticed.

As usual, give them what they want.

Everything on this forums is black or white.

Leaflets are useless, knocking is useless.

Live and let live.  You've built up your round knocking, good on you.  Genuinely, good on you.

I've built up my round leafletting.  Very successfully, thank you.  Saying it's a "waste of money" is simply not true, given my experience.
