cleaned a 100 per cent woven wool carpet,didnt see under curtains where the sky bloke lifted carpet but never put back!
it came away from wall leaving a few ripples ,i got it stretched back no major prolem.
few bubbles in 2 other rooms,got it stretched as best as poss ,but some rippling still remains,i think this room as stretched
as opposed to shrunk,any little tips of how to get rid of,never had it before ,never made a claim?
what dyer think anyone?

Good fitter would stretch back any shrinkage or refit with small cut, if it had indeed stretched .....which is unlikely

Gary, leave it for 24 hours and it may well settle down - if not, I'm happy to have a look at it for you.

It can sometimes take over a week to settle down dependant on the humidity conditions at the time.

steve,the people that own the flat are coming from abroad thursday,they are going to stay there till tuesday,the pa will ring me then,i may get you to come and sort it out,il see how it goes with the owners??

nb the large living room did fall back into place,although i had the edges re stretched
there are 4 small bubbles in the bedroom which the last fitter said that some cutting and re joining would be the answer
he didnt seem to want to do it?

Cutting and rejoining, what does he mean ?

For situations like this you should have your own stretcher and learn how to use it, save call out fitters unless absolutely necessary.

If its bubbled in the middle I would taken it off the gripper pull  the carpet back spray some tackifier down in the affected area, let it go off and lay the carpet back down on top, refit etc. Its not always about pulling the hell out of the carpet.

Dont assume a carpet will stretch back. Got a local carpet shop I have work from who been in busdiness 50 years and  believe me they tried once on a carpet I'd shrunk and no way it would go back. Dont bang on about a 'competent' carpet fitter will stretch anything back. In some cases they cant.

As John has said always wait at least a week as even if the pile is dry it will take longer for the backing to dry out. You need to be able to predict when these situations are going to arise and forewarn the customer, if they have been warned it is not a problem. If it happens after you have left they will panick and put pressure on you to act quickly. There is no quick fix it must be totally dry before anything can be done and in most situations will sort itself out.
Pepole who specialaize in new products are not the experts in dealing with used products.

Pretty sure ripples can also mean the carpet has delaminated, in which case I think it's had it.
