dont think ive had a day off since xmas this week with loads of travelling quoting school i feel burnt out reckon a nice relaxing weekend is due

how many hours do most people work i easy do 12 hour days and then go home and dont switch off till 12ish constantly on the internet either promoting the business on fb or linked in sumtimes twitter

any tips or advise welcome and dont fasncy gettin bladdered as takes me a week to recover

become a part timer like me!!

9am -5pm including admin/filling van/printing invoices/worksheets etc.4 or 5 days a week

then every month take a few days off or a week if all work completed and chill.

low overheads,no staff,less hassle and a fantastic worklife balance!!

failing that just keep working yourself into an early grave lad.

just think when your lying on your deathbed you wont be thinking "i wish id done another 12 hour day at work"youll be thinking "i wish id spent more time with my family and friends"

life is short.work hard? YES!but know when to take a break lad or it will play havoc with your health over time.

I know you don't mean 12 hours on the glass but even so after 6 'on the glass' hours and filling van and ticking off george I need a good kip. Working on facebook etc till midnight would put me back the next day. Being old I do need me sleep

i respect shes a grafter though and shes very determined to make a success of her business.

Running a window cleaning business is my hobby,

I love it.

The cleaning, quoting, meeting new people, talking about it on the internet etc,

Staff can be frustrating at times though, and sometimes it can be a bit of a pain chasing money,

In fact, I don't think I do like it, come to think about it, I find the whole idea of running a window cleaning business very distressing.

3/4 (on average) six hour days a week "on the tools." Half a day admin mixed in.

Average dry domestic day:

8.15 Dan turns up and gets the van ready while I gather up worklist, change, customer payment slips etc.

8.30/8.45 leave house. 8.50/9.00 start first house. 11.00 ish coffee from flask.

12.30 packed lunch or chippy plus another coffee. 1pm back to work. 3.15/3.30 ish start last house and back home by 4.00 pm. Dan fills van and sets immersion and charges battery while I put paperwork away, reschedule next days work and make a brew for us both. 4.15/30 'ish Dan goes home. I update books.  

If working further away leave 20 mins earlier arrive back 20 mins later. If working commercial start on glass at about 8.00 and have a longer day but maybe knock off early at end of week.

Flexible tho' - if poor weather imminent will work til 5pm to finish off especially at end of the week. Don't usually work "on the glass" on a Friday unless catching up due to really bad weather.

Yeah! Poor old Dan is on the van insurance as of Friday so he'll be doing a bit of solo as well!
