spilled milk

hi guys, i,ve been asked to clean a carpet with ketchup and milk spills, i have told him the underlay really needs to be taken up and renewed but he says clean it anyway. any advice would be appreciated..cheers

Rinse and extract with plain water then clean with mpower leave 30minute dwell extract then mist with mpower and leave it may need to use stronger spotter on the ketchup.

Craftex enzyme prespray.

Tell him you would have to charge for another call out if it still smells and you have to come back and lift it.

Why rinse with pain water then use another treatment after. Over wetting possibility with this method.

Enzyme product sprayed on quite heavily, allow 20 minutes dwell. Then rinse out. May need second clean if heavy contamination. Spraying milk spill areas with something like kill odour, clean cotton or nemesis odour neutraliser will also be beneficial.
Don't think collodal is the way to go with this escecially if its synthetic. It will work to a degree.

Hi Guys

Milk is protein based and it is this bond you need to break.

this is a classic case where enzymes are the way to go but you will need to thoroughly rinse to remove as much of the enzymes as possible..

I recently had a synthetic carpet with several milk spills in various parts of the lounge carpet.
(a 4 year old)
wasn't told and very slight visible stains so went ahead and cleaned the carpet in the usual way,
prey spray, agitation ,and hwe.
All looked good, but towards the end the smell got worse and worse and was not noticeable when I started,
continued to dry pass several times, no improvement. So beware even if it looks good the smell can be a nightmare. took a return visit and another go at it and then it reduced did not eliminate

Hi Guys

It cries out for training to help CC's remove problem stains, the very basic training currently available in no way prepares CC's well enough.

Suppliers courses just say use their products and don't really help.

This was always my plan within CLEAN to provide ongoing training but it never really got off the ground.

How many would be intersted in a comprehensive stain removal course, maybe split into 2 days?

Agree Doug, most courses don't cover specialist stain techniques such as dye removal.
So would be interested.
