scrubbing,rinsing or brush issue???
« on: March 05, 2013, 10:19:23 am »
can anyone shed some light for me please? after scrubbing and rinsing the glass i shortly afterwards notice small specs of dirt/grit on the glass, i can see the water making its way around it as it runs down! end up having to rinse again, doing me nut in it is! what am i doing wrong? i usualy scrub twice then rinse pretty well i think but on some houses it s still there. i have manual water pressure, not digital and i use a gardiner superlite mixed brush which i suspect may be a bit flimsy but have been recommended it. i dont think the dirt is coming from the brush as i give it a good brush against the wall often then check it. realy cba scrubbing away like a mad man and blasting litres of water away all day, any ideas? cheers.

Im not sure but i would not be rubbing it up against a wall as that is where you will be picking the grit up from. :)

You need to chase the dirt of the glass by rinsing and moving the brush from side to side so the dirt and grit float off the glass, Lift the brush off the glass 2/e inches so no dirt can come of the brush. Hope this will help.

There you go.  Are you rinsing OFF the window? as you are probably rinsing grit from the pointing off the brickwork and on to the glass.

never ever scrub the brush on a brick wall!!

what i do is when i bring the pole down for ground floor work i run my hand through the brush with water flowing to clean the brush if its dirty.

no problems then!
price higher/work harder!

try washing your brush in a large bucket of water
better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove any doubt

it may not be dirt, it could be tiny micro bubbles that look like dirt  ???

If it's not cement then it could be resin.

Ive noticed it a couple of times just think its from the windows being dirty but always dry fine.

However you probably have it because you clean your brush on a wall that's a bit like washing your car and dropping the sponge on the floor picking it up and carrying on.. probably scratch the car wouldn't it?... it do the same to windows.

Sometimes I have noticed that a perfectly rinsed window will have a few small bits of grit showing up a few minutes later.
I think it comes from the upper frame as the water drains completely.
