It's not just £1200 you've spend over the years though? You've spent thousands or something along those lines. I'm not having a go at you, but it's useless having 3 poles. It costs more money and you can only use one at a time anyway. Xtreme extension sections go on in seconds. More or less in the same amount of time it takes to put a new brush on a pole you can change a section? To each their own yes, but that doesn't mean it's the most efficient way of doing things.

I understand that view Tim and started with an SLX35, ran it as an approx SLX20 (still do) and added the biggest two or three sections as needed.

Later tho' I realised that you can take up a lot of time cutting and shutting pole and sometimes hose and having an extra pole is good, so when my SLX35 got "tired" it became my long pole and I bought an SLX22 for everyday use.

Now there are two of us I still use the top four sections of my SLX 35 as a 20. Dan uses the SLX22 and we have a cut down extreme 47 which sits as a 35 as a long pole.

Very rarely when we both need 30ft plus for 3rd floors together I resurrect the old SLX35 by adding to the "SLX20" I use daily and also the extreme.

But I'm waiting to see what the SLX Extreme Mk2 brings as an everyday pole - unless Foxy can stun me with his "Phoenix Litest Ever Mk2" and open my wallet.

yeh but what about the pole hose tim?is that not a pain!!

these 3 poles are certainly not "useless".they will get used and abused time after time after time!

we ve all spent money on stuff we shouldnt of in hindsight but these 3 poles are defo not a waste of money in my book.

Sorry Dazmond, in hindsight the word useless was the wrong word. But one operator can only use one pole at a time.

Going from an SL-X or SuperMax to an Xtreme is really an eye opener, and compared to the money you've spend on three poles, that money could have been used to fund an Xtreme. I use John guest quick connects, so like swapping over a brush, you can very quickly add the pole hose and extension section.

Anyways, playing with new poles is always nice I guess. Have fun.

i get what you saying tim but how does the extreme pole stand up to window cleaning in windy conditions?

sometimes its like im struggling with a fishing pole with a great white shark on the end when its windy with the SLX!! .

is there really that much difference between say a 22 SLX with carbon gooseneck with extreme brush and a 25ft extreme?

also i like the fact you can clamp the pole anywhere on a slx where you have limited clamping on an extreme.


and at the end of the day i have 3 poles which will wear less than using just one pole day in/day out.

Clamping in three positions is not a problem in the real world. The only downside of an Xtreme (besides the cost) is the fact that you can't cut them down at the end of their life. Never found wind to be a particular problem with an Xtreme
Don't know why you use a gooseneck  , out of nearly 500 jobs I only have one that needs one.
I use a 30' Xtreme for everything including bungalows. Perfect pole.

dave the 55 degree gooseneck is awesome mate with an extreme brush fitted on the end.you can clean upper  sills much more effectively and velux windows and deep sill windows are a breeze and its VERY light.

if you ve not got one i recommend you try one out mate.i use mine nearly all the time for my work.

Finally used my new slx 22 today and so far by some of the jobs I've done today it will reach most of my work should of got one ages ago it makes my slx 30 feel big and bulky! This or 25slx has got to be best everyday pole
