i used ecover for first time today and I must say I was quite impressed with it, sick of paying top dollar for squeegie off and seemed to struggle with fairy liquid, £1 a bottle from tesco..!

Just wait till the sun is low in the sky and at a low angle and then look through the glass.

Any type of detergent will leave smears but it's not always apparent.

thats rubbish rosskesava.not true at all.ive cleaned some ground floor windows trad this week in low sun and they were perfect.granted it was squeegee off i was using but ive checked with ecover before and no problems whatsoever.

good soft rubber in my squeegee

not too much detergent in my bucket

flatweave microfibres for detailing.

i check the window at an angle when tradding any ground floor windows once ive finished in low sun.

i agree you can leave streaks IF you use too much detergent in your bucket and a less than new rubber in your channel.

if you use fairy and put too much in your bucket then your asking for trouble IMO.

I stick with ecover,squeegee off or gg3.whatever i have in my van.

Totally agree with Daz.
You only need enough detergent to help the squeegee glide which is a small amount.
You should only get smears if you add too much detergent, imo.

I also used recover for the first time yesterday. Don't really do that much tradding but have a number of buildings that are single storey and more than 100m around so it's easier to trad than pole.

Very impressed with it. The glide is much, much smoother and easier. Also I found that far less detailing was required than when I use fairy. Liked it a lot.

Add a bit of Cillit Bang Grease and Floor, too. Even better.

Any mixes to soapy harbour more dirt and risk leaving marks IMO.
Ecover is a very good squeegee liquid but I really struggle using it when it's frosty and cold out so opt for unger liquid in the colder months!!
Ecover is Excellent for use in the sun shine that's a fact..

That's not right. You have to break down what's on the glass first. The applicator and washing off the window is as important- if not more so- than the squeegeeing off.
Get them both right and there'll be no smears or kicks, even in the low winter sun.

Me neither... apart from when you don't close the lid properly and it empty's itself in ur bucket, then you have a problem

I use whatever whatever is cheapest in the local shop. They all clean windows pretty good. Except gg3 which is a total rip off
