Old tiles advice
« on: February 23, 2013, 08:20:39 pm »
A friend has asked me for advice on how to get these sorted.

I'm fairly sure I could get them clean but thought I'd check on here if best to clean and then seal and if so recommended methods.

This will be a freebie for a friend who has just moved into this house so bearing in mind I paying for materials, keep costs as low as poss  ;)

Thanks

Ian,

before you type anything, click the tab that says select files, double click the picture you want, give it a few seconds and it will pop up in the msg box

What type of machinery do you have to work with Ian, or will you be looking to do this job by hand?

Hi Jason

I have various rotaries, all colour pads and blue polyprop brushes. I also have various microfibre pads and mops. Also wet vac for the slurry.

Cheers

Morning Ian
I would firstly try some heavy duty tile and grout cleaner (aqua mix) with a brush on a slow rotary and then vac up the slurry and then you can see what you're dealing with. I would then say something like enrich and seal or equiv (Kev Martin will know which is best) to bring up the colour. Take some pics when you're done as these floors can look amazing when cleaned and be a good one for your scrap book!
Regards
Tim

Ian, you have everything you need machine wise to achieve the results required, from recent posts it looks like you've already been given email advice ref the process & chemicals required.

Good luck with it, be nice to see some finished photos,
