If I were you I would take a step back, and concentrate on other things.  You live and learn, so move on.

I have admired your posts on here building up your business, but you have dark side with getting even and punishing customers that is not nice !    Business is not personal !

Richy, just forget it.

From time to time, there will always be these people.

Just write it off as one of those things that will always happen with any business ay some point.
Just chant..... Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare, Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare. It's beats chanting Tory Tory or Labour Labour.

I'm in the same boat Richy (£48 outstanding 4x£12) went on to register with Thomas Higgins but it was taking me ages to register. After half an hour of scanning proof of id & address, uploading headed paper and telling them what i'd had for breakfast i thought 'stuff it' it's only £50 and the customer is clearly a lot poorer than me. I felt better almost immediately, getting het up over £50 wasn't worth it for me. Of course each customer is different and it may be down to the principle. All i'm saying is-don't let it get you stressed or down or whatever. If you were employed you'd switch your brain off from work in a lot of jobs at 5pm on a Friday night and not worry again until 9am Monday morning. Think of it as lost time rather than money and you could have lost the same amount of time being stuck in traffic. Just MO

Maybe as window cleaners we should have a collective agreement in place, that bad payers and serial messers get an X painted on their front door with red paint once they have been dumped.  ;D

Have you thought about small claims court,it could spoil their credit rating in the future,i know my dad has just done it to someone who owed him £150 for unpaid rent,my dad did have to pay a little up front for this but he did recover it all after the claim ;D at £50 per month.

Now that's a good idea!!  ;) I've used Facebook to chase debt, and still do. In the past, I've gone to court to get payment when it ran to 3 cleans. It's expensive for the customer here as the German system usually gets done by post, and if it does actually end up in court, the costs go ballistic. Never lost a case to date, but have learned the hard way. Don't let anyone go to more than one clean. No payment, no clean. It means losing a few names on your custy list, but that's all these people are, just names. No money means they aren't a customer, just a name.

I'll remember that bamboo trick though, just for those "special" ex custies  ;D

From dai, i believe. He looks such a harmless man as well.  ;D

I can't see why anyone puts up with being owed more than 1 clean either. If it's a monthly clean they have plenty of time to pay until the next clean.

Why should he forget the debt and move on? if you did that with most that try not to pay you'd lose a lot!!

You dont get away with it if your paying anyone else.. i would never forget a debt and move on.. any other business wouldn't and shouldn't...
