Is working above 000 a myth?
« on: February 15, 2013, 10:34:57 pm »
I've read a few posts on here with lads saying they've worked up to 009 but I noticed spotting today on various jobs at 002. From what I can tell if it ain't pure it ain't no good. Right or wrong?

Wrong. If your getting spotting at 002 it's more down to technique than the water I'm afraid.

I'm working at 11 atm. An inline Tds meter could give you a reading of 10 yet the same with a hand held could be 000,so you'd renew your resin for nothing? Don't listen to all the pro's tell you they only clean at 000,they're full of sh!t

Ours hit 004 about 2 months ago and hasn't moved.
lads on here said not to touch it so i did my house. Absolutely fine, was quick too, just in case.
Try your own house, dont rinse one pane, rinse the next. See what you think...

I did a little experiment at then end of last year
To see how high it could let my water go to
Without compromising quality.
I had loads of in and out jobs booked in so I thought
It would be the perfect time to do it with the sun
Being low in December and November

Got to 037 with perfect results  :o

I was very surprised!

I would like to add I'm using 000 again now as the price
Of getting the water to 000 is not worth using anything but..
keep it simple

i mainly stay at working with 000 water but occasionally it creeps up to 015 before i change resin.no problems whatsoever.

seriously mate if your getting spotting at 002 its NOT THE WATER!!itll be either not rinsing enough or water is getting contaminated eg. mixing with dirt under rubber seals and running down the window when you ve left or top frames not cleaned properly dripping dirty water.

price higher/work harder!

i've cleaned my house a few times with just my tap water which is 36ppm & pole with no problems, i think wfp is mostly about cleaning the frames, if they're spot on the glass takes seconds

You should be able to tell by the type of spots on the glass.
If its your water the spots will be all over the glass.
If its a problem with the frames the spots will be in a line
along the top of the frame or running down the glass.
