70k earners
« on: February 10, 2013, 07:52:09 pm »
i hear a lot of windies earning 50 quid and up to  80 quid a hr etc ...i wondered how high their tax bill must be for those that earn the big bucks .. just thought is it worth being in the higher tax bracket?. i don't know if i'd want to fall in the higher bracket and get hammered by hmrc
any thoughts.......

I wonder how many of those who come on here and tell us they earn big bucks say the same thing to HMRC.

£80 an hour achievable at times,
just not every hour worked.

I've just picked up a new clean in a village - house with 10 windows + door + patio door
Owners had enough of the old window cleaner after he took a little over 10mins to clean then told her there was a price increase - new price £35  ???

Sure thing, there are a couple of jobs where I can do a great turnover per hour - but that might be for four or five hours per quarter.  If it was all like that I would be in clover - but I've plenty of work where my hourly turnover is more normal.  It averages out that I earn skilled money for  unskilled work as far as I can tell - without the hassle of having an employer (that last bit is the best bit)..

I pretty much typed out this exact post then decided to delete it.

I couldn't believe it either - I've quoted her £14 and I'm happy with that
She's well wary of WFP tho after the crap job this other guy has been doing

If you have a good accountant you should never pay what you should.

Saying this my tax bill for 2012/2013 was £12,689
