glad you posted this - have cold water van mount system - use gardiners pole hose and jeeze cold weather makes it turn itself iside out and coiled and fold back on it self. have to bite the knotted parts sometimes to open bore on hose for water to pass.

not to mention unravelling every clean.

right with you on this one - there must be something more supple

When it is cold, and the pole hose is stiff I gather it into big loops like a lasso when finished and hang it onto the pole hook in the van.       If you try and and make the loops smaller it will kink and drive you mad !

I bought a 30 metre length of the see thru pole hose from eBay, it's very flexible in the cold, I then joined it using a barb and a couple of o clips to a 3 inch section of the yellow gardiners hose as this allows me to still use the John guest fittings that came with my clx, hope this helps.

Streamline lite-5 is by far the best pole hose used it for over 4 yrs without any probs .

Currently using aquadapter orange to match my thermobore hose but everytime I take the pole out of the truck I have to de-tangle the hose : . Mike

Bin it, it's crap and don't get any better with more use.

I tried Aquadapter red and orange - it fits push fit valves perfectly. I just couldn't work with the stuff.

I like the orange ionics pole hose. It fits the push-fit valves perfectly and is unaffected by cold or hot weather. It is good for hot water as it does not expand with the heat (perceptibly anyway).

It does have a memory so not everyone will like it. You do have to coil it properly each time the pole is put back in van.

Aquadapter hose is much better than the yellow gardiner hose.

Does that mean you're putting it away tangled?   

Our hose is low stretch, but it doesn't like being twisted.  For some users this means they have to consider how they manage their hose, or the twist results in it coiling back on itself.  Keep the twist out of it and it should lay flat.

I remember Andy and Dave's comments about it on another forum, because they're 2 out of a small number who really dislike the hose, although I seem to remember Dave saying he gave the orange less than a week, and the red about 10 minutes before he decided he didn't like it!

Both hoses take, on average, about 2-3 weeks of use before they settle down, but they can't be overly twisted even then.  They have to be low stretch for best operation of the Aqua-dapter.

It's really down to user preference, we're pleased that about 95% of customers seem to like our hose, but the other 5% really don't!  We only produced the hose for the benefit of the Aqua-dapter, but we have a lot of customers who just buy the hose now, as it's very consistent in different temperatures, and durable.

No I dont put it away.tangled , I coil the hose up after wiping it down then place it in truck .

Unless I pick it up perfectly it will end up with a tangle or loose knot as I take it out of truck it might fair better as the weather warms up .

When in use cleaning windows it is fine to a point but always wants to return to be being coiled up in a small coil . Mike

I use aqua dapter orange it can be terrible for tangling up but to be honest im yet to find a good pole hose yet.

The was supposed to show that that was intended to be mildly humorous.

I understand, the link on the blog shows the way one customer found to be the best way to use the hose.

I'd recommend only coiling it loosely when packing it away.

I don't know when you bought it, but we also produce it in larger coils now, to stop it wanting to return to too small a coil.  The way it's stored and coiled can also affect the way it responds.

Something else you could try is to but the hose into some hot water for a few seconds.  Take it out, coil it loosely into large loops and store it like that.  Hopefully the next time you use it, it will behave better for you.

Generally it's the storage and twisting that cause issues for people.  We don't have any problems with it, but then I guess we're more conscious of it as it's ours.  It makes it a little harder to understand what others are doing with it that causes such a different reaction.
