I've done exactly the same thing recently but not with an ionics tank. My tank had been in nearly 6 years. I sprayed up some wd40 before and let that settle and then just used socket sets and spanners to take the bolts off. The hardest bolts to take out for me were the hose reels. As long as you have good access it shouldn't be too much of a problem.I used protectacote as well, it's only been 3 months so far but I must say I'm pleased with it, it does need a few days to cure though.Refitting the tank is easier, just steer clear of the fuel tank.Simon.

Nissan Primastar, the Ranger I had was staring to cost money. Managed to get a really good deal on the Primastar and am loving the room, but I must admit I do miss the 4 wheel drive.Simon.
