What wind speed is safe for WFP
« on: January 30, 2013, 04:11:00 pm »
Opened this as other thread locked for some reason ??

Like someone else said if u cant control pole then too high IMHO

In Birkenhead this morning wind too high and in Crosby at 1pm it was gusting 40 to 45mph

In Mold north Wales this afternoon it was gusting at 35 mph which is just on the limit for me.

Was really bloody windy. Apple to some trad guys about 130 who said they were on their last house. I found there was no problem with pole moving, more worried about dirt getting blown straight back into the widows.

I locked it cause i could see it turning into a impact 43 bashing thread

What i was trying to find out was at what wind speed does it become unsafe to use a water fed pole its ok saying if the jets are blowing side ways stop but if i was an employee on a percentage or bonus wage i would work no matter what the wind speed was

If their was a accident who would be to blame the employee or the employer that didn't set standards for if its above x wind speed to stop work

for me purely from a controlling pole viewpoint on normal houses about 30mph to 35mph I rekons however if using a 60 footer pole an awful ot less than that  :o

I don't think windy weather is just a safety issue.
Usually the quality of work suffers in my experience.
Have you ever cleaned your own windows wfp in windy weather?
Or seen customers windows from inside afterwards?  :-X
Results are usually awful.
