ro has produced about 8 inches of water in the ibc
« on: January 25, 2013, 11:58:45 pm »
the ro system has produced about 8 inches of water in the ibc since about 3 o clock do u think the membrane has gone or should i buy a booster pump???

had this membrane a while now and produced a lot of water we do flush and backwash but not as often as we should do

or do u think it just coz we have changed the resin coz this sometimes slows prodution down for a day or so till it kicks in

If you don't have a booster pump then getting one is a must in my opinion. They work really slow in the cold on just tap pressure. Unless you have good pressure?

It could be your pre-filters, it could be your membrane, it could be your resin, it could be the cold, it could be a drop in water pressure, it could be a blockage.

Id start at the beginning and try to do my best to work my way through, a process of elimination. Of course is there anything you've done to the system since it was last used will also need to be considered, perhaps a fitting has been replaced in an incorrect fashion.

I think I saw you say on another thread that you have someone who's job is concerned with the water production side of things, has he been playing with the system and not told you?

Then again I'd also invest in a number of things, a pressure gauge, they're cheap as chips.

You've been talking about a pump a lot recently, that and this talk of system problems, what you been doing in that lockup Richy that you've not told us about?  8)

its an ionic system that ive took out the van usually works fine dont normally have problems but im guessing its the change in weather or change of resin i have three ibcs so usually have plenty of water cant remember if they were all filled last weekend so that may have had a bad start to the week but defo need a booster pump coz i have to leave it on 24/7 to keep three tanks filled

My ro has also slowed right down in this weather, it normally take a day to fill my ibc tank, but due to the cold it takes upto 2 days now,
