Work wise it won't get any worse for you than this and come march it's all over until next winter.
What exactly is the problem - you can't work at all, or are some customers asking you to leave them this time?
If your hoses are freezing on the ground when you work then eliminate the hose and get yourself a backpack or trolley.
If customers are asking you to leave them this time then move onto the next job so you can earn something.
Or maybe you are reluctant to work when its snowing so haven't?
But while i have a few customers that would like to turn me away in the rain, they are ok with the snow.
I'm just tossing ideas here as i'm not sure exactly why you are feeling this way about work. But if it is one of the above then this is only temporary and can be sorted.
Also, try canvassing and picking up work because the best customers (in my experience) are picked up between jan to march. They seem to want it more than the summer pick ups.
Anyway, my point is it will get better soon by default. All you gotta do is keep going.
I hope it works out for you and you family.
