HWE wand problem
« on: January 24, 2013, 01:29:05 pm »
I've been using my HWE wand for over 6 months and now occasionally the solution trigger button sticks on.  Is there some maintenance requirement I'm missing?  I put a little light oil on it a couple of weeks ago, but today it sprayed all over a customers wall before I realised it had stuck again.

Do you know how to strip down the trigger??

Its just a big nut on the bottom.

Take it apart and put some grease in there.

Use Vaseline or special rubber lubricant. The seal may go soft and gooey if not.

The spring is okay.
I put some clear (cycle) grease in it.  It feels a lot smoother now.

Thanks very much everyone.

You don't put grease in these. Your cleaning solution reaches all parts so you will get grease dissolved in your solution. The o rings can detriorate or swell especially if its not used regularly. Replace the o rings or get a repair kit.

...which lasted about 1 hour!!!  The only way I could complete this job was with some rapid sprinting back and forward from the solution on/off switch.

I've ordered the repair kit.  I'm not sure why it only lasted 6 months though.
