« on: January 17, 2013, 09:35:35 pm »
What is it that makes the difference between one with a cut off and one without, is there some way of removing the timer cut off myself on the L5 heaters

i have been using one all week and it has never cut out on me when doing domestics
i use a tap on my pole so every time i switch the water off it resets the timer
my understanding is the timer is only off for a few seconds then it will reset
could be a problem if say you were cleaning quite a lot cladding in one go

ive been working all day with my L5 and its never cut out on me yet, never had it running long enough.

dont forget the cut off is a safety device that cuts it off when the heater gets to hot! or put it another way, to stop heater packing up, plus dont forget its gas!!!!!

all you need to do is stop the flow of water until the heater turns off then start all over again, it resets it self, if you get in a habbit of doing it each 10 minutes you will have no problem.

plus i know my L5 has a daily runing cost of just under £1.30 a day!

The reason I query it is that one of my L5's fires up and runs ok but once it gets to its cut off point it doesn't fire up again for quite some time so I was considering weather it would cure it if I removed the cut off

Either really slow at cleaning or you clean very big houses! Lol

All you need to do is to stop the flow of the water for the boiler to stop after 10 minutes or so, then start it up again,

Does a gas cooker/hob, caravan fridge running on gas, gas boiler at home have a 20 min cut off? there is no need for them.

Boilers are different, both hot flames and a contained high pressure steam from water it could easier bust, seen it to many times with house boilers.

Boilers at home have other safety devices that work the same way. Like the thermo cuplink  Portable ones need more protection as they are hung up on anything, trees, walls, inside vans etc

OK, just have to turn off a little more often then, don't take much, just spray the one window turn off, scrub window then turn water back on. Work for me.

Tankless water heater have a thermo coupler too, if selling them without a 20 min timer was dangerous, they wouldnt be allowed to make them.

depends on laws too, dont forget a lot of these are being brought from overseas. they will work fine but i guess there is a section in the manual that will tell you not to run it for x amount of time.

i prefer to be safe  than sorry, like most people a 20 minute cut out dont effect them

it wasnt ment in a bad way at all, just saying that your either slow and or that they are big houses that you are leaving the water running for to long, on a average house it dont take 20 minutes to clean the windows,
