[Jays Window Cleaning]

Hi all just a quick question . Anyone here use a gardiners wide super light brush? I have a lot of very wide panes on my round and was looking at getting a wider brush. Does the flow rate become lower ? as I would like to use 4 jets for a good coverage. I don't use a vari stream just the pressure switch on the shure flow . And does any one use these at height. I would be looking at using it above 30ft.

Nice one cheers . I ask mainly as its work on the coast and it needs a good rinse. What jets do you use ? I would more than likely use pencils.

Seems like it should speed up the job considerably.

Bigger wider brushes clean faster, its the water flow that cleans faster.The more water on the glass the faster the glass will be clean.

I mainly use Gardiner brushes these days but if you do big sheets of glass, take a look at Ionic's professional brush systems. I have two of these, 18" and 24" fitted with both pencil and fan jets and they are excellent on the really big windows.

We use the Gardiner Wide brushes all day every day. I find that combined with the swivel neck, that there isnt a window too small that I cant clean.

Using it has the advantage of cleaning more glass in one swipe, or cleaning the frames aswell in one swipe therefore you are saving time. I recon it has saved me between 30-40mins per day. For me that equates to an extra £90-120 per week.

The disadvantage is that you use more water.

I do!

They are grouped in sets of two jet holes across the width of the brush in 4 evenly spaced pairings.

If you look at the first image link in the posts above (image 000777) you will see that there are four pencil jets fitted. At each of these points next to these jets is another jet hole, giving 8 jet holes altogether.

This would allow you for instance to fit 4x pencil jets and 4x fanjets and then simply swap the hose from the pole over depending on which jets you wanted to use. Most users of these brushes would want to use 4 jets to maximize the cleaning potential - this does double your water usage though. To help with this we are just about to release new 1.4mm pencil jets (stuck/lost in Customs as I type!) which use exactly half the water of the standard 2mm pencil jets. These will be available as a no-cost option on these Wide brushes.

I'm using either the xl dual trim, medium mixed bristles or the extreme equivalent at the moment and just wondered if the wider brush would be any quicker with this kind of work?

I think that the wider brush would be quicker, but you the operator may be more tired and as a result may start to slow down! On commercial large panes of glass the wider brush with a high flow rate (4x 2mm jets) would definitely be the faster option.

Hi Alex. I've got 16,800 solar panels on one site to clean.  I have 1000 litre tank in the van. Looking to buy extremes and brush heads specifically for this job. What would you recommend? I can't afford to be running out of water half way through the day as there is no water on site.

It is a ground mounted solar farm with the highest panels about 10ft away from where we will be stood when cleaning. I need the kit to be as light as possible to increase worker productivity. Thank you.

Hmmm, that does make things difficult. Thing with the wide brush is it uses more water, however you clean quicker.

Overall though you will use more water, what would solve the problem is 4 * 1mm jets.
