I ring about 5 a week and text probably 15...

The ones I ring are people that usually have extras and I text the ones that need to unlock gates

we call 70 percent of clients as it saves turning up for nothing but  also you will be paid in cash if they are in .
its part of our  service but also an opportunity to touch base for any extras  .
some WC like it  , others dont - up to you

i text those with padlocked gates. I hate it gives people the oppurtunity to say not this month.Winds me up , if they say it too often they get dumped though it is probably the part of my business that winds me up the most. NEVER call/text people who dont need to unlock gate / leave padlock off, it is an admin nightmare!!

Text for this who lock gates

Text / call  Those where i have to go through house / garage i have it sorted that they are first / last job of the day ... only a hand full like this but going that little extra allows you charge that little extra.. works for me and they are appreciative of it too..

Have one where i do the backs only but it through a garage .. nice house do it first thing 830 before they go to work... tanspires they run / own a local refridgeration compnay next to where i live...so got nice 4 weekly commercial out of it.. with the house and commercial it just shy of £50 4 weekly... top customers really nice people too ..I know they'll stay loyal..

I only text if I need to .

I found out when I first started out I'd get a lot of messers if I txt them the night before so now I only txt for access .

I only text or call if the gate needs to be unlocked.

One thing I like about this business is the flexibility... Just being able to just turn up and clean... I would hate it if I had to text or call all customers the night before.

In two estate areas I do, I have a pre-printed Memo that says I will be around to clean their windows the next morning and it asks them to leave their side gates open.

I normally stop off and push it through their letter box after cleaning another area on the same estate that doesn't have the same access issues.

It works; gates are left open and money is left with neighbours/under doormats if they're not going to be in.  They're quite nice this lot, apart from one misery guts, but there's always a fly in the ointment I find.

Off the top of my head, we phone/text 3 customers out of about 500.

In fact, one of them we have got tomorrow morning which includes her gutters and fascias. Ideal cos not only is it snowing now but heavy rain is forecasted all day tomorrow so as its 'booked in' we cant get turned away  ;D

That is the plus side of pre arranging jobs.
