I have an old Alltec Aqua 40 plus. Had it for over 2 years now and bought off someone when the guy was upgrading. I only use it every so often as carpet cleaning is only my add-on job. When I bought the porty the guy said that the pump is new and this week it packed up. I took the machine apart, took out the pump and it does look new so I took it apart and can't see any faults inside. The brushes look ok (they are pushing towards the motor and in contact), everything is in place, etc. the only thing I've noticed is that the motor wiring is slightly burned in one place (I mean wiring of the motor internaly, not the cable that supplies power to it). I only use water, no additives. What usually goes wrong in these? Before I go buying a new pump I thought I could try and rescue this one and save some money.
Whilst taking the porty apart I did the same with the wands. These are quite old so need a couple new parts. So now couple questions - what's the difference between the K valve and P valve? Does anyone know where can I buy the wand hose, I mean the one fitted on the wand that runs between the trigger and the jets? And the same for the stair/upholstery tool? Both need replacing. I also need new jets as the holes are way too big in them now.
Sorry for the long post and thanks in advance for any info.
