Customer informed me that carpets she wanted cleaning was cheap. Left house with customer happy, then a2 hours later I had been sent a pic of the carpets cleaned and 3 rooms all have ripples in middle of room. I know of carpets shrinking but never heard of them stretching.

Can anybody give me some advise what to do next?

Tell her to wait 24 - 36 hours, it will go back.
It's expansion of the backing, scary when you
first encounter it, but it is temporary.

Definitely dont worry. I am very new to carpet cleaning (only started a couple of months ago) and had exactly the same happen to me a couple of weeks ago. In fact I was using multipro, extraction plus and a steempro so exactly the same setup as you.

Before I even left the house the carpet was looking like the waves of an ocean. I was about to get a carpet fitter to come and re fit it but searched this forum and found that they all go back to normal. Sure enough I poped over a couple of days later and it was as flat as a pancake.

Got to admit though, I did C**p myself when I first saw it. Dont panic!

Multi pro ...ph10.5 Extraction plus ph9....try using Fibre & Fabric rinse ph4.....in order to bring the ph level down

just spoke to customer. ripples still there but carpet is still damp 24 hours later
cleaned her front room carpet which was different to the ones that rippled and the front room carpet has dried nicely.
she also said that it was not cheap make carpet but it was cheap because they was off cuts and she has extra thick underlay underneath so will that be why carpets are still wet?

No! you don't want to be wetting it anymore. Give it time, sometimes its over a week before it relaxes back. The underlay shouldn't be a factor unless you've seriously over wet the carpet. Worst case scenario if it doesn't go back is to get a good fitter to restretch it.
Every carpet cleaner should get in touch with a good fitter as its easy to pass work to and thro. I used to clean a lot of good quality carpets which were 20 plus years old. I'd advise them that the underlay was shot and was not doing its job as a shock absorber. A lot then got my fitter to replace the underlay, in turn he passed me loads of jobs as he mentioned having other carpets cleaned whilst he was fitting new ones in other rooms.

If you use multi pro to pre spray then to bring the ph level down you should just use fibre and fabric rinse.
Might be worth to going back just to extract and use a air mover to encourage drying. If its still wet after 24hrs you run the risk of it becoming smelly/mouldy.
As you got a Prochem machine did you go on there free training course?

This time of year you need to be extra carefull , humidity this morning is at 89% here and wont lower a lot through the morning, so as JK has said carpets will take several,hours to days to fully dry out.

Unless of course your one of those guys that advertise carpets dry in one or two hours

i dont give a time limit for drying capet has flattened fine now and customer is over the moon
