i have the 22ft CLX but i would say just buy an SLX mate.

seriously if its to be used as your main pole go for full carbon fibre and get a carbon gooseneck and extreme brush and you will have an awesome very light, very rigid pole which will allow you to wfp with the minimum of strain.

CLX is a great budget pole but a bit whippy at full stretch over extensions and connys.

With what i have done with them I find the facelift better, that why I'm ordering 2 different ones soon! 18ft everyday pole and the 26ft ultralight both full carbon.

Have you worked with a SLX-25?

I've used one every working day for 5 years, it does most of my entire work. I have an Xtreme 47 with extension for work above 30ft. Before this I had a carbon facelift (old type) & owned or used various other poles & brushes including Ionics, various Unger, all Gardiner's range (including both modular & telescopic), extender, excel, Xtel, Harris ;D etc etc.

I'm almost 9 years wfp now & think I'm justified in recommending what I have found to be probably the best "one pole does it all" in the world! ;)

Oh Mr windybenn, you caught me out, I must not of use these poles to comment on the post, that would just be a silly thing to do.
Who would give advise on something they new nothing about? Maybe a young 20yr that's knows nothing about wfp and only been shown for a day maybe more?

In answer to you question

I have used clx and slx with someone else when I did some work with them, about 2yrs, then I have also used a couple of other poles that I can't remember the name of, not very good ones, then started on my own, I use unger ones at the minute and my own built ones due to all money went onto setting up wfp system and van, poles are poles when you are starting out, personally I wasn't 100% impressed with the clx or the slx hence why I have never bothered to upgrade my poles, why spend money on something your not happy with.

Then on the first day the facelift pheonx poles was released in was there to see them and haveva little play with them, the look and the feel of them felt a lot better than the clx or the slx did for me, the clamps are better etc.

So that's why I'm willing to spend over £500 on upgrading my poles to the pheonix's ones. I never waste money, I wanted something that felt right to me, and these ticked all the boxes!

Yes I have.

It's down to everyone's way of working, about 80% of my work can be reached with an 18ft harris pole, why would I want to use a much bigger pole and carry extra weight when I don't need it!

I got one job that I need a 42ft pole on, does that mean I only got to have one pole and use that 42ft for everything?

You might have 9 years in it, but everyone works how they feel comfortable with.

At the moment I carry 5 poles in the van.
32ft pole, 2x18fts, 8ft tele pole and 4ft. Use 4ft on my bungalows and when there is a small gap between  conservatories and walls!

10ft step ladder then the 32ft pole lol

I have a 42ft pole that I use, but that sits in the garage most of the time as its only used for a couple of jobs a year. So don't carry that around
