Hi Ian

Which controller are you using? and what age is it? also what flow rate do you have it set on?

With out getting to techy the controller will be warm to touch after you have been working for a few hours. the controller have a heat sync to protect the board. If it is getting to hot to touch check the connections and wiring for any breaks or corrosion as this may also cause the unit to heat up

Ian if it is just warm to touch that is not a problem, with a current passing through the PCB it will warm up we fit a heat sync to help draw the heat away from the board and this is what you are noticing. it is the same thing that happens when you power your lap top or PC after a while they feel warm to touch.
